Bella Got Her First Haircut

Guess Who!

You Got It!
Bella and Jake!

I did know she was in there. Please do not call CPS or the Animal Police. :) Actually Jake might want you to call. I am sure he would not mind finding a new home. Poor guy.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thankful!

I was challenged by a friend to spend a hour on Thanksgiving writing down all the things I am thankful for. I didn't quite meet the challenge. The morning seemed to get hectic fast. However, I did get 30 minutes in, and I enjoyed it tremendously. I am reminded again at times like those of how good God is.

Laughing

Bella is really loving her brother these days.
She constantly wants to hold him.
Trust me he is not always as joyful about it as he looks in this picture, but on occasion he loves being clobbered by his big sis.

However, I really am thankful that she loves him so much, and she has never seemed jealous of the new little guy. My prayer is that their relationship will always be protected, and that they will have a deep bond!

Rowan's First Time Camping

Rowan enjoyed his first time camping.
Here he is sitting by the campfire with his pal, LilyP.
Bella and Beau are enjoying the bright stars in the night sky.

Sweet Terri

One of my best friends from high school, Terri,
was in town for a wedding.
It was so fun to get to spend a little bit of time with her.
I wish we still all lived in the same town!

Thankgiving Dinner # 1

I like having as many Thanksgiving dinners as possible this time of year.
Our lifegroup had a yummy Thanksgiving dinner last night.
We will have another Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday with the Swartz's.
Then another on Friday with my family in Weimar.
That would make 3! But I do have a lot to be thankful for!

Tender Hearted Sister

Today shortly after I put Rowan down in his crib, he started crying. Bella, being the concerned sister that she is, informed me that he was crying. (as if I didn't hear him:) I told her he might have to cry for a minute, because he needed to take a nap. I went out to the car to get my lip gloss, when I came back inside Rowan was quite. I then realized I could not find Bella. I ran up stairs and saw this.

You see she had used that Pampers box as her stepping stool. She is a tricky one.

Hallelujah- I did it!

This is my house right now! One might think no big deal, but this is a huge accomplishment for me. I am not or maybe I should say was not much of a scheduled person. I definitely never put Bella on a schedule when she was a baby. She just grew accustomed to our schedule, and this really worked for us. As a young couple newly married it was hard for us to be home at 7:00 every night. However, now with two it is somewhat of a different story. I know the only way to have some peace and quite during the day is to put Rowan on somewhat of a schedule. So, today is the first day Rowan has taken a nap at the same time as Bella. Well, to be honest this is the first time he has ever slept in his crib. It took me a good 45 minutes to get them down, but now I have some time to myself. It's nice. :)

Baylor Homecoming

So, I have been determined every year since I started having kids to take them to the Baylor homecoming parade. And to always stand in front of the old Baylor law school. It is just nostalgia for me. It really isn't that I am a big Baylor fan. I guess it just stems from growing up with parents that were HUGE Baylor fans. My dad was a season ticket holder, and we came to every Baylor home game. Keep in mind I grew up in Houston. So we spent many of weekends on the road to and from Waco. I remember loving the parade growing up. So now I am enjoying taking my kids. My sister (also a graduate of BU) and my nephew came into town. We had a nice time despite losing the car keys at the game. :)

This is me freshman year (1998) with Ryan on my shoulders, and now (2007) Ryan with my little girl, Bella, on his shoulders.
WOW! I can't believe it has been 9 years!

Yikes!

So I got my haircut... short! I have always wanted to try it. And well, I tried it, and now I know I don't really like short hair on me. However, it is just hair and will grow. At least that is what I keep telling myself. After I got it cut I went to pick up Bella. As soon as I walked in the door she exclaimed, "Mom, you got your haircut." Thinking no kidding Sherlock, but keeping my sarcasm to myself I replied, "You like it?" She said, "You look like a boy. (pause) Are you a girl or a boy?" I then explained to her that even though my hair looked like a boy, I was in fact still a girl.
I attached a pic for your viewing pleasure.

Tale as old as time Song as old as rhyme...

Beauty and the Beast
Once upon time there was a young girl named, Bella.
Bella loved to be girly. So, of coarse, on Halloween she wanted to be nothing other than a princess. Her mom, just having had another child, wanted to try to "match" her children's costumes. So, Bella's mom went off to look for a princess dress in young Bella's play closet. After a few short minutes of digging around, her mom was delighted to find a yellow Belle costume from the movie Beauty and the Beast. Perfect, her mom thought. Now Bella can be a princess, and her mom didn't even have to purchase a costume. However, if Bella's mom wanted her kids to "match" she now how to think of a character from Beauty and the Beast to put on her 5 week old son. Well, the mom knowing she was not too crafty decided against the teacup, the clock, and the candelabra. And that well... only left the beast. Although a little hesitant to dress her sweet son as a beast, she started to brainstorm ways to make a beast costume.
The final product is pictured above.
As the story continues the mom made the beast costume and put it on her son to take pictures. As she was taking pictures, she noticed that the son kept grasping onto to the fur and pulling it off. Worried that he might get it in his mouth, she changed his shirt to one that had "little prince" written on it.
That also worked... prince and princess.
Why didn't she think of that in the beginning?

So everyone tricker treated happily ever after.
There will be a link to more Halloween pictures soon.
