We've been asked who we think Rowan looks like. So, Brett and I got out newborn pictures recently to see who Rowan resembles. Most people say his dad or Bella, but we were surprised to see that Rowan actually looks a little like my baby pictures.

Miracle Match 1/2 Marathon

Congrats to Brett!
I had good intentions to try and cheer Brett on at different locations during his run. However, the little guy kept me up for half the night. Therefore, when the alarm went off at 6:45, I was thinking there is no way I can do it. So I decided I would just meet him at the end. I loaded the kiddos and we were headed to the finish line. However, before we ever got there a friend called and said he had just finished!! He was too fast.

I felt bad for not being there, but very proud. Especially since he deals with chronic pain and still chooses to be active!

The Adventures of Bella and Jake

What Jake and Bella have been up to lately.

Brett went outside to check on Bella and found her swinging Jake.
Jake looks like he loves that game.

Today I heard this knocking noise. I went over to the area where I had last seen Bella playing. Well, all I found where some fingers.

Attached to those fingers was Bella, and next to Bella was Jake. They were crammed in the cabinet with my millions of photo albums.

Then back to dream world he goes.

Rowan's First Trip to the Zoo

My cousin's came in town to visit this weekend. We had a great time. Since today was such a beautiful day we decided to all go to the zoo.
I, of coarse, thought... zoo + newborn = easy~ they sleep the entire time. Au contraire the boy was awake the whole time. Most of the time he wanted to be held. Therefore, he was able to really experience the zoo. He told me he wants to go back often. Bella, of coarse, loves it. It is funny how things never get old to kids. I mean she could go to the zoo, museum, or the train at Barnes and Noble everyday and never get tired of it. She could also watch the same episode of Dora the Explorer everyday ten times a day if I would let her.

He is Growing Up :(

No more belly button thingy.

Last night I was laying Rowan down in my bed to change him, and I noticed something next to him that looked a little like an enormous raisin. I pick it up, looked closely, and saw that it was his belly button. Well, not really his belly button, but the end of the cord that was clamped. So I changed him and went in the other room... a little while later I heard... "sick, honey, why did you leave this on the bed?" You see I didn't really know what to do with it. I'm just not ready for him to not be a "newborn". So I thought maybe I should keep it. I know most of you now think I am some weird sick-o. And no I did not keep the placenta and plant it in my backyard. But I do remember running into this problem with Bella. I was at the mall with my dear friend, Jamie, when Bella's belly button thingy fell off. I wasn't sure what to do with it then. I couldn't bear to just put it in the mall trash? So I put it in the stroller cup holder until we got to the car. Then I put it in the car cup holder where it sat for about a week until Brett found it and said... "sick, honey, why did you leave this in the cup holder?" Both times I ended up just throwing them away, that is after I debated if I should put it in an envelope to go in their baby book. Sick~ I know!

Heart of Texas Fair and Rodeo

Last night we went to the fair with grandma & granpy.
Bella had such a good time on the rides,
and Rowan had a great nap.

This is as close as Bella wanted to get to the animals.

Bella enjoying the puple dinosaur ride. However, she did start crying moments after this picture was taken. The guy in charge of the ride said that he couldn't stop the ride, it was on a three circle cycle. So she just sat there and cried. It was so sad. We never really figrured out why she started crying. Maybe because she relized she was the only kid on the entire ride?!
