End of the School Year

The school year is coming to a close.
I only have two and half more days of work.
I will definitely miss my job,
but I am looking forward to spending more time with my kiddos at home next year.
I can't believe that I only have one more year left with Bella at home. :(

Last week she had her last day of Mother's Day Out.
She had a great year there!
Here is a pic from her end of the year luau party.

Gymnastics is coming to a close as well.
We will be taking it during the summer though.

Here she received her one year metal.

End of the school year also means beginning of summer!!
Yippee!
My favorite season.

Here is Rowan enjoying some R & R.
Life as an 8 month old gets exhausting I'm sure.

Bella has started riding a bike.
With gas prices on the rise we thought we better get her comfortable on a bike.

1st~ nice girly little dress for chic on a spiderman bike.
2nd~ why don't your parent's get you a helmet that actually fits

She is a cutie and did a great job!

This weekend we spent some time at my aunt and uncle's farm.
We took Rowan out to see the cows for the first time.
Bella has decided she wants nothing to do with the cows anymore.

This picture was taken right before the cow started head butting Brett.
Scary!
Of coarse, he wanted to continue to antagonize it,
while I was about to pee my pants and start ramming with the Polaris.

As we were driving back, I saw this sweet sight.

However, that expression on her face made me feel a little sympathetic...
I wanted to say I know how you feel.
Like this is all she is to her little calf~ an utter.

The kiddos.

Wondering what Brett is doing in the background?

This!

I walk into our bedroom every night with Brett doing this stretch.
Usually his butt is facing the direction in which I am walking into.
It is his favorite stretch and he spends about 15 minutes in this position a night.
I am just thankful he wears shorts. :)

A family pic

Finally, Happy Memorial Day!
Thank you to all the brave American soldiers who
have sacrificed their lives for the USA! We are blessed!

Mother's Day

What a beautiful day! A day created to honor our mother's.
However, I know for some, mother's day, can be hard. A day some could do without.

Being a motherless daughter on mother's day is painful. There is a void, an emptiness, a longing to be with my mother. I do miss her. I miss her hands, her smile, her style, her laugh, the way she said fried sssssrimp, her wisdom, her playful spirit, her gentleness, her ability to love, her intimacy with God, the way she loved my father, and her elegance.
There is no love as pure, strong, and unconditional like the love of a mother.
So I will forever miss my mom. It wil
l forever be a hard day.

However, I serve a God that promised me on the day that my parent's died that He would, like he did for Job, bless the latter part of my life even more than the first...
if I would just trust Him and choose life.
If you do not know this Jesus that I have come to know,
please let me share all of what He has done in my life.
I promise that knowing Him is to know
a life filled with hope and joy.

One way that He has blessed my life, is by sending me so many women that have loved me in such deep places like a mother would a daughter. Thank you to all my earthly "mothers". My aunt's, mother-in-law, sister, and all the women that have loved me and walked with me in different seasons. Thank you for allowing Jesus to use you to love me in such a way that allows me to experience the love and wisdom of a mother in my adult years.
Thank you also for loving my children!

In addition, the Lord has blessed me by allowing me to be a mother.
I am so proud and honored to be a mother to
Bella and Rowan.

So thank you Lord for your promises.
I have been able to experience such joy after such tragedy.
My day was in fact, beautiful.

He WILL bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor. (Isaiah 61:3)
