Help Me- We've Got A Biter

I can't say it any other way...
I got a biter on my hands and I am not sure what to do.

I pop his little cheek when he does it,
but it really doesn't seem to be helping.
The other day at lifegroup my friend, AMY,
was holding him and loving on him...
he snuggled up next to her
and the next thing she knew, he bit her on the neck.
It is usually out of excitement when it occurs.
Any thoughts out there?

All of my kids have bit to some extent but Colby was probably the worst. Everyone kept telling me that I would have to bite him so that he understood that it hurt people. I didn't do it - and didn't do it... but finally mostly out of frustration - I did it one day & I am not kidding... he never bit again! I felt awful for days though. I guess it worked though. Good luck!

just a thought, but he might just need more oral input. you could try getting him a teether that vibrates or things to eat that are really chewy or sour. this may not work at all, just a thought!! love you

Uhhhgg... this is such a hard stage. HE WILL OUTGROW IT!!! teethers (mine always loved a frozen damp wash cloth), warn everyone, I would thump the check and then ignore biter and Really dote on the one bitten.... I finally got one of the girls to "gently" bit him back. I couldn't do it :( it was hard for them even! Not sure it helped much.
GOOD LUCK.... This Too Shall Pass!!
~love the comic :)

Mason bites his toys and stuffed animals, and then a couple of times he bit Adam on the shoulder. We always tell him no and put him down immediately. He hasn't been doing it lately, so I wonder if he just did it when he was teething.
